AdBlue® in the exhaust system triggers a catalytic reaction that reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.
SCR - Selective Catalytic Reduction All diesel engines in KODIAQ vehicles use the SCR system to meet EU6 emission limits, which requires an additive sold under the AdBlue® brand to function. AdBlue® in the exhaust system triggers a catalytic reaction that reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. The properties of AdBlue® are described in ISO 22241. AdBlue® is a 32.5% solution of synthetic urea in distilled water. The AdBlue® tank has a volume of approx. 18 liters, which is enough for approx. 6,000 to 18,000 km. The driver is notified of the low urea supply in three steps via the information display - with a remaining range of 2,400 / 1,000 / 0 km. After the AdBlue® tank is completely depleted, the vehicle is immobile (engine cannot be started)! The AdBlue® driver can refill himself or at an authorized service center. The AdBlue® refill port is located next to the fuel filler neck. The minimum possible quantity for replenishment is 4 l.
